Arriva passengers will be driven across Southend by some of their favourite superheroes, in a bid to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.
Following the recent loss of valued colleague Debbie Spencer, to cancer, the Arriva Southend depot team resolved to raise money for the charity in her memory.
Led by driver Lee Burvill-Eckett, the team will be driving their usual routes, dressed as some of the nation’s best loved superheroes, including Superman, Batman and Spiderman until Saturday. There will be collection buckets placed on each bus.
Lee said: “Losing Debbie really drove home just how many of us at the depot had been affected by cancer in our lives, which makes you realise just what a cruel illness it is.”
