CROWDS were fascinated as a traditional steam locomotive train passed through the region this weekend.
Organised by Steam Dreams, the LMS Stanier Black Five 45212 could be seen from miles around as its thick clouds of steam billowed into the air.
The train travelled through Southend, Leigh and Hadleigh.
It was built in 1935, and is now returning to the mainline.
45212 is owned by the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway.
Only this year has it has been fitted with the necessary equipment for main line running.
