A THEATRE group has donated £260 to Canvey First Responders.

Canvey-based drama group Cast and Crews Theatre Workshops have had a successful run of performances of Blithe Spirit.

Written by Noel Coward, the comedy follows Charles Condomine who becomes haunted by his first wife Elvira.

Some members of the group handed the cheque to Canvey Island First Responders to support the voluntary group.

The first responders attend medical emergencies on the island, including heart attacks and strokes, often attending before the ambulance service and delivering life saving care as quickly as possible.

Last month, the group had the most call outs within the East of England Ambulance Service area. They were tasked to 135 calls.
