THERE is plenty on offer at the Festival of Wheels which will be held at Barleylands in Billericay in just over a week’s time.

The two-day event, hosted by Essex Motor Show, will have a number of car, bike and truck-based events and activities for the whole family to enjoy.

James Martin, of Essex Motor Show, promises that it will be the “biggest show of its time in Essex” and is expecting about 10,000 people to attend.

He added: “A lot of time and energy has gone into this.

“There is a need for this type of show and it should be a great car-themed family day out.

“The idea is to create the show and make it bigger and better year after year.”

Judging from what is already planned to feature in this year’s show, that task might be tough to outdo.

As well as a variety of vehicles on show, ranging from vintage, modified, custom made and supercars, there will be a host of shows and events throughout the weekend.

These events include motorbike football, bikers jumping through fire and over people – including James himself – and a number of other stunt shows involving 20 different vehicles.

Also in attendance will be “the fastest boy on two wheels”, British Champion Cooper Rushen, who is just seven years of age.
Cooper is a motorbike racer from Tollesbury, who reaches 0-60 in just 2.9 seconds.

Joining Cooper will be “the fastest girl on four wheels”, Kaitlin, who is a 12-year-old junior drag driver and last year was confirmed as the fastest 11-year-old girl in Europe.

Youtube sensation and British Automotive Enthusiast, Boosted, will also be in attendance as well as Dub Customs who are the UK’s best-known vehicle wrapping and customisation specialists.

The festival will be held over the weekend of August 5 and 6. Visit essexmotorshow.co.uk for more information.
