A man has been charged with a string of offences following an incident in Benfleet.
Martin Reynolds, 31, unemployed, of no fixed address, has been charged with burglary, theft from a person, driving whilst disqualified and driving without a licence.
He appeared at Basildon Magistrates Court on Wednesday and his case was sent to Chelmsford Crown Court where he is due to appear on Wednesday 23rd August.
Police received reports of a suspected forced entry into a property in Sandown Road, Benfleet, overnight on Monday, May 1, before driving off with the victim’s Nissan Qashqai, bank cards and purse containing cash.
Officers arrested the man in Tottenham, London, on at around 7.25pm on Monday, July 24.
