THE MANAGER of a historic Canvey rock band held a special talk about his over 40-year career in the music industry and his life living in the seaside town.

Chris Fenwick, manager of Dr Feelgood made a special appearance at Canvey War Memorial Hall in High Street on Canvey for a special presentation, ‘Canvey Man: Tales of His Journey’.

His career of now 43-years begun when Mr Fenwick was just 19.

Stories of Mr Fenwick’s life included his travels across the world with the band who are still performing 120 times a year.

Speaking on the day, Mr Fenwick said: “I was very pleased and they were very responsive. I do story telling all over the place, but this is my home town gig so it was a special one.”

It was not just the music that his listeners were drawn to.

During the two-hour presentation, Mr Fenwick spoke about many topics and memories such as a strange incident that his parents experienced in Barcelona many years ago, as well as the aftermath of his 60th birthday which was celebrated in Switzerland while the band were on tour.

Mr Fenwick continued: “The liked the travel, the rock n roll, everything I spoke about I felt got a very strong reaction. They were sad that it was finished.”

This appearance will not the only from Mr Fenwick before the end of this year.

Dr Feelgood are set to play a home town show at The Oysterfleet Hotel in Knightswick Road on Saturday November 11.

The band make the appearance every year and Mr Fenwick cannot wait for the return in a just few months time.
