ARCHITECTS won an award for their plans to regenerate the dilapidated Laindon Centre.
Swan Housing Association and its architects Pollard Thomas Edwards and C.F. Møller were successful at the Housing Design Awards - with judges awarding their scheme the best regeneration gong.
The scheme will incorporate Swan’s precision engineered modular homes which will be built in Swan’s new factory in Basildon.
Judges said the design had “quality and ambition.”
Geoff Pearce, director of regeneration and development at Swan, said: “As a long standing local housing provider, with a clear social purpose, we are committed to the redevelopment of the Laindon Centre. Residents have waited too long to see this happen.”
