THERE was plenty of fun to be had in the sunshine at a popular festival in Wickford as families flocked to enjoy the activities.

Held at Grange Primary School, in Elder Avenue, on Saturday, events included the 1474 Air Cadets Marching Band, a Jujitsu presentation from Shinfodo, music from the Champagne Flutes, performances by the Wickford Majorettes and displays by 5 Elements Martial Arts Group - all of which down a storm.

There were also performances by stage schools and groups, including singer Johnny Mack, Talents Dance School, Bromfords Drama Group, band Brown Mosquito and the Leonard Dance Group.

There were also workshops run by Chicken and Frog Bookshop, and refreshments provided by Ma Bears Tearoom.

Sharon Fealey, office administrator, said: “The sun shone on Grange Fest and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. This family event organised to celebrate music, drama, arts, crafts and storytelling filled the school field with creativity.

“Local artists showed their art in the exhibition, whole families experienced a multitude of art and craft activities around the site, whilst a variety of singers and musicians of all ages entertained us on the Big Stage interspersed with wonderful arena performances from a multitude of different clubs.

“Thanks goes to everybody who supported the festival.”
