A MAN has appeared in court charged with the attempted murder of a police officer who was stabbed outside a pub.
Andrew Beadie, 20, of Claremont Road, Basildon, is also charged with two counts of affray in relation to the incident in an alleyway near the Bow Bells Pub, in Bow Road, London, on November 22.
Janine Morris, 34 of Rainhill Way, Bow, was also charged with attempted murder and two counts of affray but the charges have now been dropped.
Beadie appeared at the Old Bailey but did not enter a plea. A trial date has been scheduled for May 15.
The name used in court by Janine Morris was Janine Boyle.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: “Following a review by the CPS, the case has been discontinued against Janine Morris, who was previously charged on Saturday, November 26, with attempted murder and two counts of affray.”
Two 17-year old boys remain on police bail until February.
