A WOMAN had an unknown liquid thrown on her in a suspected acid attack in Basildon.
Police are appealing for witnesses who witnessed anyone acting suspiciously in Hereford Walk, Basildon, on Friday evening, July 22, at about 11pm to contact them.
An investigation has been launched after at least one, possibly two people, called at a house and threw an unknown liquid at a woman aged in her 40s.
The woman attended hospital as a precaution but has no permanent injuries following the incident.
Officers understand the suspect was looking for a man. It was dark and the woman did not get a good look at the suspect, leaving police unable to establish whether the person was a man or woman.
The incident was reported by Essex Police as part of a 24-hour initiative on Twitter to document all the calls received by its force control room.
