ROCHFORD and Southend East MP James Duddridge has been admitted to hospital.

The MPs consituency office confirmed the MP had suffered a relapse of health problems he experienced earlier this year.

A spokesman for Mr Duddridge's office said: "James Duddridge, Member of Parliament for Rochford and Southend East, has been taken unwell and admitted to hospital.  James was unwell last year and despite making a good recovery, has unfortunately suffered a setback and has been readmitted to hospital.

"As a result, James will not be accepting any diary invitations or booking any events into his diary but his constituency office is still fully operational and constituents can still contact his office either via email, in writing or on the telephone.

"James has been overwhelmed by the kind words and well wishes he has received and is looking forward to returning to work as soon as he can."

The setback was first announced on Twitter
