MALAYSIA: The driver involved in Malaysia's worst-ever bus crash that killed 20 people had two outstanding arrest warrants and 13 summonses for various traffic offences, police said today.

Yesterday's crash on the North-South Expressway ripped the roof off the bus after it veered off the road, crashed through a protective barrier, and plunged into a five-metre deep ditch.

Nineteen passengers died along with the driver.

Nine others were injured in the accident near Bukit Gantang, about 125 miles north of Kuala Lumpur.

"This is the second day, the investigation is still going on. There are so many angles we have to cover," police chief Raja Musa Raja Razak said.

He said the driver, Rohizan Abu Bakar, had two arrest warrants and 13 summonses against him. These are all for road traffic offences, added Razak.

Fire department officials said there were no skid marks on the road, indicating the driver may have dozed off at the wheel.
