The Scottish Cup quarter-final with Rangers could net Partick Thistle a £300,000 jackpot.

The Jags already stand to pocket close to £120,000 as their 40% share of the 36,000 Ibrox gate from last night's shock 1-1 draw.

But with Thistle gaining a 60% cut of the replay and Firhill set to be filled to its capacity of around 12,000, that would land them in excess of £100,000.

On top of that, a TV pay day of £82,500 is highly likely to be added.

Delighted chairman Allan Cowan has revealed the value of the replay was priceless to his club, who will tonight announce at their AGM an operating loss of £450,000.

He said: "First of all, I have to say just how proud we are of the performance of our team. They made all 3,000 of our supporters at Ibrox last night very proud, while they in turn played the twelfth man role superbly.

"The value of this cup run and the earning of the replay is massive to our club. We will hopefully find out within the next 24 hours when the replay at Firhill is decided, although a date of Sunday, April 13, when the semi-finals are scheduled, would be good for us.

"If that were the case then I would hope we would get TV coverage for the replay and that in turn would again make a huge difference.

"In any case, for once the surface at Firhill would maybe give us a home advantage that, while Rangers are still the favourites, maybe in not such a clear cut way."

Cowan has moved quickly to allay any fears in the Jackie Husband stand that their section may be segregated to allow the red, white and blue legions in.

The Firhill chairman said: "We will decide this evening before our AGM what we will do but the feeling is that we may be able to fill every seat of the 6,250 in the Jackie Husband stand with our own support.

"That would allow Rangers the north stand and we will have to assess the old main stand and see what would be best. But no decisions have been made at this stage."

The Jags supremo was full of praise for boss Ian McCall, who Cowan has backed to one day strike silver.

He said: "We now have a manager who one day will guide us to silverware and hopefully that will not be in the too distant future.

"Ian has built a young team with a few old heads, and they are only going to get better. We look forward with some relish to Rangers coming to Firhill."
