Vassilissa Levtonova pirouettes around a festive Princes Square in Glasgow as she searches for a present for Princess Aurora.

The Scottish Ballet dancer was there to highlight the company's production of The Sleeping Beauty, in which she plays the Lilac Fairy.

The famous story begins on a summer afternoon in 1830, where mortals mix with the fairies of an enchanted forest in a magical kingdom. And the production, directed by Ashley Page, below right, promises a spellbinding take on the tale.

The show, which opens at the Theatre Royal on Saturday and runs until December 27, also features Tchaikovsky's famous score, performed by the Scottish Ballet Orchestra.
