AN optician invited guide dogs in to celebrate a week-long fundraiser.

Specsavers raised £234 for the Guide Dogs charity, thanks to generous staff and customers.

Guide dogs Harrison and Tel were at the Southend High Street store with their handlers to help highlight the important work the charity does.

Staff let their hair down with a non-uniform day while also showcasing their baking skills with a cake sale for customers.

There was also a raffle with a cuddly Bouffle dog up for grabs and badges will be on sale for the rest of the month. All proceeds will be going to the Guide Dogs charity.

Stephen Kirby, store director, said: ‘We are very proud to support the Guide Dogs charity and we have really enjoyed raising money to help them. Guide dogs help to provide a level of normality in day-to-day life for the blind and visually impaired.”
