BURGLARS struck a home to steal hundreds of pounds of cash.
Raiders forced their way through a front door at Crouch View Grove, Hullbridge on Wednesday June 11 between 1.27am and 1.47am.
Police have now issued CCTV in a bid to find the suspects.
They searched rooms and stole a three figure sum of cash, a black and cream handbag and a purse.
A member of the public found the handbag in Grassmead Avenue at about 6.30am.
Two young men were seen in the area at the time of the burglary on CCTV. Police are trying to identify them to help with enquiries.
One of the men was seen carrying a crash helmet.
Investigating officer Pc Paul Ross said: "We would urge everyone to be on their guard and ensure that doors and windows are securely locked when leaving their homes or when going to bed to ensure that they do not become victims of opportunist burglars.”
Anyone with information should contact PC Ross at Southend CID on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
