ESSEX Police’s top boss will be held to account by residents at a public debate.

The Essex Police Challenge will see residents quiz Essex Police chief constable Stephen Kavanagh at Balmoral Community Centre in Salisbury Avenue, Westcliff on July 2.

Police and Crime Commissioner Nick Alston has arranged the day to provide the opportunity for to directly raise any matters that may concern them.

The day will cover a countywide Essex Police performance update, with a focus on crime trends in Southend, how the new policing model will work across Southend and the county and seasonal crime patterns.

The meeting will be recorded and added on the PCC website after the event.
