What's their to investigate, I don't think they can blame this one on the tree, so the driver was at fault. I hope he is breathalysed and arrested.

should hope not, the tree was nowhere near it, giving chase to someone possibly, see the tyre marks on the pavement and grass and the damage to the nearside.

All in good time, don't forget it was possibly an Echo reader that tipped the Echo off and took the photo, it did get on here pretty fast.

That looks like a complete write off or total loss to me. Everyone makes mistakes and BMW estates are not the most maneuverable of vehicles in built up areas. Im no Clarkson, but be fair these kids driving these things are young and starting out, give them a break. A Cop is a Cop and the Job is generally dealing with undesirables. Take the P*ss out of the lads as much as you like, when you lot F***K**G need them you will be glad they are there.
I hope the driver and crew are safe and well.

Did you read all the previous posts, it will give you a better picture rather than just having a Police vehicle driving into a lamp post on a straight road for no apparent reason thats in your head, think about it.
Cars get trashed, it happens when you deal with people that fail to stop.
