BURGLARS broke in to a specialist tropical fish shop and stole the till.

Intruders broke in to Woo2Fish by forcing the front door, between Friday night and Saturday morning.

They swiped the till, which contained a two figure sum of cash and also damaged an internal door.

Investigating officer Pc Luke Dyerson wants to hear from anyone who was in the area between 11pm and 8.40am and might have seen suspicious activity at the shop.

Anyone with information should call Pc Dyerson at Southend Neighbourhood Crime Team on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

You're right, I'm very sorry. When I first read this story, I thought it would be fine to make silly puns. Not for any real reason or out of malice, just for the halibut. Now that I've had time to mullet over, I realise this is actually the crime of the century and we should all be ashamed.

Seriously though, a two figure sum was taken. It would have cost the most excellent Woo2Fish more to get their name in the paper by taking out an advert.

Also, the thieves won't get court until they get caught. Oh, and it's spelled off-licence.

Oh, and it's spelled off-licence.
im = I'm inprovements = improvements there = their plus a whole heap of grammatical errors. Hope the silent protestor doesn't open a business that requires a basic level of English as it will flounder pretty quickly.
Ouch! Your words really sting, Ray!
Hake to say it but gillty as charged. Sorry, Mondays do this to me and I'm always a bit of a snapper. Tomorrow I'll be back to normal, in fact, I'm chilled every day barramundi.

No doubt in the scale of things, they'll only get a fin. But they will take their dabs.

how do you think this situation is funny? ... would you find it funny if your parent's or grandparent's home got burgled ?.. I think not!!
this fish shop has nicest most helpful staff that I have ever come across.
they have built this shop up from next to nothing ...
if there was particular fish you would like whether its tropical or marine the staff will go out of there way to find It for you .. and are always on hand to offer any advise they can give.
I feel the comments that you have ALL written making jokes out of this situation are unacceptable and in poor taste ...
it takes along time to build up a good reputation and minutes to with your stupid comments to break that reputation ..
how do you think the poor owners of the shop must feel when there reading you sarcastic comments ...
its NOT funny and is very hurtful
if you've got nothing nice to say ... don't say anything AT ALL
and if any one out there knows any thing about this situation please go to the police!!

Couldn't agree more. No-one has made any malicious comments and all this does is make the incident much more visible to the wider audience by keeping it on the most commented list for several days. It's good advertising for Woo2Fish (who I'm sure are great), and it also spreads the word about the crime.

They really shouldn't leave cash on-site overnight though. Lucky it was just the door that got jemmied. They could have smashed the window with a rock, eel think twice about leaving cash in the till now.
