FIREFIGHTERS tackled a blaze that broke out in a bedroom in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Crews from Southend and Leigh were called to St Vincent’s Road in Westcliff at 12.37am.
They put on breathing apparatus and used one hose reel to put out the fire.
Everyone in the house was accounted for and there were no casualties.
The fire was extinguished by 1am and firefighters used a high pressure fan to clear the house of smoke.
An investigation will be carried out to determine the cause of the fire.
