A WOMAN is in hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car in Westcliff.
The whole of Ditton Court Road, Westliff, has been closed this morning after a car hit a woman, causing serious injuries.
The air ambulance was scrambled although a land ambulance eventually took her to Southend Hospital after paramedics treated her at the scene.
At least two fire engines and two ambulances were in attendance.
An ambulance spokeswoman said: "We were called at 11.40am to an incident involving a pedestrian who had been hit by a car.
"The woman, of unknown age, suffered serious multiple injuries.
"She was taken to Southend Hospital by land ambulance, accompanied by air ambulance critical care medics."
