TWO lads from Rayleigh will be rubbing shoulders with the stars after making it through to the live finals of this year’s X Factor.
Performing arts students Joe “Connor” Conaboy, 19, and Josh Zaré, 20, make up two fifths of the boyband Kingsland Road, and were picked on Saturday’s show by mentor Gary Barlow to be one of his three groups in the final.

Joe and Josh moved to East London last year to form the band, and with the rest of the group have been wowing the judges throughout auditions and boot camp with their performances.
Judges Sharon Osborne, Nicole Sherzinger and Louis Walsh, as well as Take That star Barlow, have all said the band has the potential to go all the way in the show if they put in the hard work.
Last week the group sung a rendition of Stevie Wonder’s For Once in My Life which earned them rave reviews from the panel.
In the lead up to the judges houses, the group found themselves practicing so much they lost their jobs, and now say this competition is all or nothing for them.
Josh said: “We just want to get out there now and give the performance of our lives. All we’ve wanted to do from the start of the competition is do performances that people will remember.”
He added: “I think we’re self-confessed boy band geeks. We like The Wanted, One Direction – we like everybody.”
Connor said: “We spoke to Nathan from The Wanted once. We saw him in New Look and were like “oh my god let’s get a photo with him”.”
On having Gary Barlow as their mentor, Connor said: “Take That are a huge inspiration. How we’d want our shows to be. It’d be like Take That style. Stadiums with a proper show. Not like standing and singing, walking left and walking right. We’d want a full-on show.”
The group are already being hailed as the next One Direction and JLS – two of the shows most famous boy bans – and are breaking young girls hearts with their infectious performances and cheeky charm.
