Case against Hullbridge homes submitted
CAMPAIGNERS backed by 3,700 villagers have submitted their case protesting against 500 new homes being built in Hullbridge.
Hullbridge Residents Action Group has handed in a 3,000- word dossier outlining why the village’s infrastructure cannot cope with the development Rochford District Council wants at Beckwith Farm.
The development ispart of the council’s controversial “core strategy”, which is aimed at creating 2,785 homes in the district by 2025.
Brian Carleton, who is acting as agent for the village against the council, said: “We hope to achieve withdrawal by the planning inspector.
“We hope he will take it out of the core strategy.
“He will probably ask Rochford District Council to reappraise the site.
“It might mean two years of hard slog for the council.”
