A TEENAGER who is battling cancer had her wish to meet her idol Olly Murs granted thanks to a charity.

Amber-Leigh Mullins, 15, is appearing on ITV’s Daybreak this morning to talk about her special day meeting Essex singer Olly who is currently on tour with superstar Robbie Williams.

The programme is working with the charity to make wishes come true for children, filming surprise meetings with their favourite celebrities. All the youngsters are featured each day this week.

Amber-Leigh, from Rayleigh, was diagnosed with leukaemia in June 2011 and her treatment has left her unable to do her favourite pastime dancing.

She applied to Rays of Sunshine Children’s Charity to fulfil her wish to spend time with Olly and sing with him.

It was granted when she was invited to see the former presenter of Xtra Factor perform in Peterborough.

Before the show she was taken to hang out backstage and have a drink when he tapped her on the shoulder and did an impromptu song with her.

Mum Julie said: “Amber-Leigh had a wonderful day. She absolutely loved meeting Olly.

“We managed to keep it as a surprise until Olly jumped out at her, which made it all the more special.

“We can’t thank Rays of Sunshine enough.
