Shorefield Road closed for works

A ROAD in Southend is closed temporarily for road works to provide better pedestrian crossings and pathways.
Shorefield Road will be closed at its junction with Western Esplanade for up to four weeks from today.
During this time, vehicles are prohibited in the street between Western Esplanade and Palmeira Avenue.
Access will be maintained for residents.
Vehicles needing to access Shorefield Road must do so by entering from Station Road and leaving by Palmeira Avenue. Meanwhile, traffic approaching from the seafront will be diverted via Grosvenor Road/Station Road.
The scheme includes new and improved pedestrian island, widening the south side pavement, upgraded lighting and road resurfacing.
