Three car crash in Rayleigh

A THREE car crash brought traffic to a standstill in Rayleigh.

The accident saw a BMW and a Fiesta collide head on at the temporary traffic lights in Crown Hill.

A van also became involved in the collision at about 3.15pm today.

The Fiesta, driven by an elderly man, collided into a wall.

An ambulance was called to the scene because he was suffering from chest pains.

Firefighters were also called to the scene but were stood down because no one was trapped.

Arriva bus services had to be cancelled as Crown Hill was shut following the crash.

you don't collide into a wall - A collision is an isolated event in which two or more moving bodies (colliding bodies) exert forces on each other for a relatively short time - you crash into a wall.

That said, I hope everyone involved recovers quickly from any injuries sustained

Good point but everthing in the universe is moving.

I'll hazard a guess: Fiesta: Boy racer who thought he could jump the lights.BMW: Arrogant tw@t who thought they owned the road. Ergo: collision inevitable. HTF you can crash there is unbelievable. Two more idiots sidelined for a while.

Discuss.

Have you read the article, "the Fiesta, driven by an elderly man!" Good to see you jump to the boy racer conclusion though!

Can you be an elderly Boy Racer?! Actually I don't see why not, objection withdrawn!

Bet the bus drivers were happy/ Those who were at the station couldn't get up the hill and those at the top didn't have to go down the hill. Smilies all around.

Echo: What exactly happened? At first the article states that a BMW and a Fiesta had a head-on collision and then later it states that the Fiesta collided with a wall. SO was it a head-on collision (normally that will totally stop a vehicle) or was it a glancing blow that sent it into a wall? How the hell did you win Provincial Newspaper of the Year with this level of reporting and the total lack of proof-reading?
