Trains between Southend and London restart after person hit earlier

TRAINS between Southend Victoria and London Liverpool Street are running again after a person was hit by a train earlier.

Disruption on the line, which saw eight trains cancelled after a person was hit by a train between Hockley and Rayleigh at lunchtime, is expected to last until 3.30pm today, Thursday, February 28.

A replacement bus service ferried passengers between Southend Victoria and Wickford as train operator Greater Anglia dealt with the incident.

I would suggest its more likely the person hit the train.

I think it would be relevant to put in the article if the person actually died or not. Im assuming they did, but you never know.

According to a report on Southend Radio sadly the person hit by the train was fatality injured. My prayers for their family and friends not forgetting the driver who's train was involved.

Very sad, not just fro the person's family that died, but fro the driver of the train, he will never recover, a living nightmare fro the rest of his life!
I hope he/she has a family and support to them through this ordeal.

We don't know the poor persons mind that drove them to this. A rational mind would think of a better way to go I'm sure. Feel sorry for the family.

My family know his family well, they lived opposite us when I was growing up. His wife is a close friend of my mother, my sister was friends with his step-daughter growing up and his son was my accountant. It is all very sad and shocking to everybody.
