A TEENAGER who ran on the pitch during Southend’s cup clash with Leyton Orient on Wednesday could be banned from every football ground in the country.
The 17-year-old was tackled to the ground by stewards after he decided to try his luck mid-game at Roots Hall.
Police also arrested a yob who threw a flare during the match before assaulting a steward.
The 23-year-old, who is from Boreham, was still being held in police custody yesterday.
Both he and the teenag pitch-runner, who is from Leigh, could now face Football Banning Orders to bar them from visiting Roots Hall for future games.
It could also stop them travelling to all away games.
Despite the disruption on Wednesday night, Southend United went on to secure a 2-2 draw which will take them through to the final of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy at Wembley.
