Looking for a bit of 'cred' within the gang for being 'banged up' no doubt.

He wanted to be locked up to boost his 'street cred' in the same way that you are boosting the 'gangs street cred' by reporting of them in this manor.

You should mock them in your reports : " the 16 year old looked petrified in the dock as the judge sentenced him "

Also i disagree with the above poster, no holiday at all, he will be scared he will be locked up with boys much older & stronger than him * i suspect they will not be to scared of the Echo labeled notorious “Get Paid Daily” gang.

Goto a youth detention centre where he will mix with all sorts, get new connections, learn new crime techniques and ultimately work out in the gym all day, where he will come out much stronger and wanting to fight everyone........I hope he sorts himself out and changes his way, but i fear a life in and out of prison will be his destiny.

I feel there might be trouble brewing, what happens if he is banged up with the cash in hand crew, or the get paid monthly (better class of crew), or even worse the invoice is in the post crew you don t mess with dem

Reading the report, I am confused - did this teenager actually stand in the Dock & say to the court words to the effect of "Please impose a custodial sentence on me", or is it that his previous behaviour made it obvious there was no alternative?
I personally cannot see anyone asking to be locked up (although I suppose it does give the chance to "network" with other lawbreakers & compare notes), & am more inclined to the view that he, & his defence team, believed he would receive some sort of non-custodial sentence that did not impose too many restrictions on his daily activities.
I suppose it's not worth asking where the parents & extended family were when he needed teaching between right & wrong, or what efforts have been made by the school he was enrolled in (but doubtless never attended) to help keep out of custody. I fear another young life will become wasted, or even cut short...

Higher IQ..?? Really. Must be part of a gang, follow the crowd to feel big. Er, you may have a higher IQ than a lemming but you're still acting like one.
