A NEW Facebook page has been set up providing updates on Olympic legacy plans for Hadleigh Country Park.
Ambitious plans to transform Hadleigh Farm into a top visitor attraction now the Games are over are underway, after Essex County Council was granted planning permission in August to create a new community hub there.
The plans include adapting the challenging Olympic mountain biking track for public use, creating a hire shop, new paths through the country park and cafe.
Now, residents will be able to find out the latest up-to-date information on the project on Facebook after the council set up its own webpage for the legacy plans.
Videos, photos and details of the planning application have already been uploaded for visitors to view on the social networking site.
An Essex County Council spokesman said: “After being granted planning for our Hadleigh legacy proposals, Essex County Council have now reached an exciting stage of the Hadleigh legacy plan when we begin the construction of the venue into a multi-user destination.
“Facebook along with twitter and other social media platforms, provide a fantastic way of keeping residents up to date with the construction of the venue. We hope to gain much interest from not only Essex but across the UK.”
