Cara Delevingne is reportedly being lined up for the female lead in Zoolander 2.

The model - who has been branching out into Hollywood in films such as Anna Karenina, London Fields and Pan - has apparently been in talks about the sequel to Ben Stiller's 2001 comedy.

The Hollywood star is now keen to meet her to see if they work as co-stars, reported The Sun.

A source said: "Ben and producers want a big-name model for the film and they need to be jokers and full of natural comedy.

"They've been closely following Cara and her antics during the past couple of years.

"They are still working out what the exact role will be but it's likely to include a lot of goofing around."

Cara's agents apparently believe the part in the comedy could give the catwalk queen a chance to "spread her wings", and that "it could be the role to make her name in the US".

"Initial meetings have taken place with the agents but now Ben wants to meet Cara and work out if their chemistry is good," added the insider.

And Cara, 22, might not be the only cover girl on set, as Bradley Cooper's model girlfriend Suki Waterhouse is also tipped for a part.

"Suki and Cara could be exactly what the film needs to ensure it's a box office hit," said the source.
